]]> Attorney Stephen Goldman recently obtained a $1,000,000 award for a gentleman who was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The other driver, an uninsured motorist, attempted to make a u-turn in the middle of the road and struck the right front of the vehicle driven by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff suffered extensive injuries and ultimately underwent surgery. He is permanently disabled, and can no longer engage in work or most physical activities.

After a three-day trial, the plaintiff was awarded one million dollars in damages.

]]> Bianco Professional Association is proud to have worked extensively with the Burgess BioPower team, state Senators, Representatives and Governor Chris Sununu in support of Senate Bill 577. The legislation extends an agreement between the power plant and Eversource, providing future sustainability while protecting hundreds of jobs in the region. Bianco P.A.’s legal team and Government Relations professionals, together with Burgess BioPower, partnered to prepare extensive research on New Hampshire’s energy infrastructure and goals, drafted legislation, and developed and implemented a legislative strategy with cooperation from lawmakers and state officials. This process allowed Burgess BioPower to proceed without pursuing the matter with the PUC, resulting in significant cost savings while achieving a favorable resolution for the plant and the North Country.

After passing both bodies of the New Hampshire legislature with wide margins of support, Governor Chris Sununu signed Senate Bill 577 into law at a ceremony on June 27, 2018 in Berlin, NH. This legislation supports an essential, locally-owned source of renewable energy for the state and protects the 220 jobs associated with the Berlin-based Burgess BioPower plant.

In a statement, Governor Sununu emphasized that the new law would not increase energy rates and would protect both Berlin and Coos County from potential job losses that could have resulted in millions of dollars in negative impact to the North Country’s economy. The legislation provides crucial support to the energy and economic needs of Berlin and northern New Hampshire.
